With so much chaos in the world as old systems collapse, it can sometimes feel difficult to access joy. As more darkness rises to the surface, many people especially empaths feel the weight of suffering, both in our local communities and across the globe in far off lands. Watching it all unfold can leave you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and even helpless.
At times, you may feel as though you’re somehow responsible for carrying the burden of it all, expending enormous energy on fear, worry, and envisioning worst-case scenarios. But it’s important to remember that none of us are meant to carry the world on our shoulders. In moments like these, it can help to step back and consider the bigger picture, why this chaos may be happening in the first place at this time on Earth.
Death and Collapse Before Rebirth
There can be comfort in recognising that collapse is often a necessary part of renewal and rebirth. To build a better world, outdated and harmful systems must first fall away.
This mirrors our own inner transformation. Growth often requires us to shed layers of conditioning and distortion so we can step into a more authentic and evolved version of ourselves. While this process can be painful, we are far more resilient than we realise. There is a deep strength within us that allows us to move through these transformations even though this has not been how we have been conditioned. We are lead to believe that we are powerless.
When we look fear and distortion in the eye rather than brushing it all aside, it begins to lose its power. In doing so, a shift in consciousness can occur. As old patterns dissolve, space opens up for hope to emerge. It is all part of the evolution of our consciousness.
If we apply this same perspective to the world, it can offer a sense of hope. Bringing corruption, injustice, and imbalance into the light however uncomfortable is often the first step towards real change. Collapsing the political, religious and corporate systems that have kept us disempowered and in fear is necessary for change.Avoiding or denying these realities only delays transformation.
However, staying informed should not come at the expense of your wellbeing. Protecting your mental and emotional energy is essential. Healthy boundaries, whether that means limiting media consumption, avoiding negative energies or taking time out to help prevent burnout and despair.
Tips for staying connected to Hope

Even in difficult times, small actions can help you stay grounded in hope.
Make space each day for what brings you joy, no matter how simple it may seem. A walk in nature, listening to music, reading, or pausing to appreciate what you already have can gently shift your state of mind. Gratitude for all you have can be a great leveller and can help restore energy lost in endless worrying and despair.
Acts of kindness can also be deeply up lifting. Reaching out to someone who may be struggling, having a meaningful conversation, or offering small gestures of generosity can create positivity. In supporting others, we often find our own sense of joy restored. As we uplift others, we too are uplifted.
The Importance of Community

A sense of community is something many people are crying out for these days. The need to feel seen, heard, and connected is deeply human.
Our ancestors here in Ireland enjoyed that sense of community despite the hardships they faced on a daily basis Though life was simpler, there was a richness in shared experience and mutual support. In today’s world, that sense of connection has been lost to a great extent particularly with increased reliance on technology.
Yet connection is still available to us. Whether through local groups or online communities, finding spaces where you feel aligned and understood can be incredibly grounding and up lifting. When we embrace the idea that we are all connected, that we are part of something larger, life somehow becomes more meaningful and that sense of separation dissolves.
Reconnecting with Your Inner Light

Feelings of emptiness or despair can sometimes can also have roots in a disconnection from your inner self. Many of us were never taught how to nurture this connection, instead being conditioned to look outside ourselves for guidance or validation.
But there is a quiet, source of strength within each of us. It is our God spark, our divine essence. Reconnecting with it doesn’t actually require anything too complex. It begins simply with awareness, presence, and quiet reflection.
You might think of this as your inner light, your intuition, or your life force. We have different ways of feeling and connecting to it. However you define it, it is always there. For most of us, it became more apparent during periods of awakening or deep personal change or challenge.
Even in uncertain times, joy is not something that disappears, it’s something we can access no matter what is going on around us. By caring for ourselves, staying connected to others and finding joy in the ordinary everyday blessings in our lives, we can begin to find moments of light, even in the darkest of times.
